I am pleased to nominate Jeremy Dittrich for the KEZ & Rio Salado College "Excellence in Education” award. Jeremy is an exciting teacher; his enthusiasm for physical education is inspiring. Jeremy adds a new dimension to physical education, going far and above the standard PE classes at other schools. For example, Mr. Dittrich instituted a quarterly hiking field trip to help PE students not only improve their fitness and learn a lifelong physical activity, but this program adds to the school morale as Jeremy enlists other staff to come and volunteer for these hikes during their plan periods. Jeremy is a great teacher with very high expectations for all of his students. As a lifelong athlete himself, he makes learning fun, but more importantly he shares his great love of fitness with the students, which ignites their interest as well. One such program is the use of technology to have students create ‘commercials’ for fitness gyms, requiring students to looks at the benefits of various facilities in a fun and exciting way. My Dittrich actually has tests, quizzes and homework in PE on various health and fitness concepts. He has shown creativity and innovation to improve quality instruction in Kyrene. In addition to excellent teaching, as the Coach for Centennial’s 7th grade boys and girls basketball teams and wrestling coach, Jeremy works effectively with his players, other coaches and parents, and handles any challenges and always maintains a high standard of professionalism. Mr. Dittrich leads by example and he is always actively involved in school spirit days and pep assemblies. Mr. Dittrich has also served as an advisor & coordinator for Centennial’s Minitown event. In addition he coaches for Mountain Point High School’s freshman football team and serves as a youth leader in his church. Jeremy shows an unwavering commitment to improve the lives of young people. Jeremy is friendly and positive. He always has a kind word or comment to share with students and his fellow staff members. We are very fortunate to have Mr. Dittrich in our school.
Signed,
Laurie Jake
