Mrs. Gerrich is an excellent teacher who is viewed as a role model by her students. She teaches various levels of choirs ranging from beginning (1-2) to advanced chamber/jazz (7-8). Within her 6 years at McClintock High School, she has brought nothing but excellence to the music department. Recently, Choraliers (a women's ensemble) competed at a state-wide festival and received an 'Excellent with Distinction'. Also, A Cappella and Chanticleers- the upper-level mixed ensembles at MHS received a 'Gold' while on tour in San Diego this past year qualifying them for 'The Festival of Gold' (a national event) in New York City this May. Not only does she bring success to those around her during the school day but she also advances them at an extracurricular level. Thanks to Mrs. Gerrich’s extraordinary efforts both in and out of the classroom, McClintock places All-State Show and Vocal Jazz choir participants as well as Regional choir and All-State (formal) festivals on an annual basis. In addition, Mrs. Gerrich is the musical director of the annual McClintock musical. She was recently named the Regional Chair of the Southwest Region Festival. She teaches with pure excellence to not only the advanced ensembles but also the soon-to-be leaders of the program! I cannot imagine anyone else running the program or being taught by a person other than Mrs. Gerrich. I, myself have seen a personal growth while being a part of the choral program and now as a senior, I am, to say the least, blessed to be taught by Mrs. Gerrich! She deserves recognition for all of her hard work as she builds up strong young leaders in the community that will have success in their lives for years to come. She has touched so many people and will continue to do so. Having said that, I nominate Mrs. Gerrich, the Choral Director at McClintock High School as the KEZ & Rio Salado College "Excellence in Education" Winner! Thank you for your time!
