I have had 2 children in Mrs Buffkin's Classroom in the last 2 years. She takes every child's education and progress personally. She goes extra miles all of the time to ensure that she truly leaves no child behind. My daughter had suffered a physical injury that left her unable to be at school for an extended period. Not only did she visit my daughter to bring get well wishes from her classmates, she also made sure that my daughter had everything she needed to stay on track with the other students. When my daughter went back to school, she was able to get right back in the classroom seamlessly. Mrs Buffkin also introduced her to community service work that acted as an extremely gratifying substitution to Physical Education as she was unable to participate in PE with the other students. My daughter was able to not feel left out or disabled due to the ability to be of use to others. My son has her now, and has challenges in a few areas. She takes time to learn each child's strengths and weaknesses and is always open to catering to a child's individual learning style to ensure learning success. I have never seen a teacher more dedicated to each student's success as she is. I have never seen a teacher more caring of the whole child, as an individual with individual needs as she is. She is an example that all education professionals should follow. In a time when educators are given less and expected to accomplish more, she is a ray of hope for parents that some educators truly do what they do for the love of children, and for hope and faith in a bright future.
