I feel that Mr. Aaron McDowell should be a winner of excellence in education because it it were not for him I would never have been able to pass the AIMS Math test. I have been in special education since the third grade and never thought I would be able to pass the Aims. Mr. McDowell took the time to tutor me when ever I had extra time. He allowed my to come in before or after class he also let me tutor during his prep time. Before Mr. McDowell was my teacher I was unable to get pass testing at below average math skills. Now I have passed the Aims Math test and plan on comtinuing on to college. If it were not for him I know that I would still me in a basic math and unable to pass Aims. He is a dedicated math teacher and is always willing to take time out of his busy day to help students at Wickenbur HIgh School. He tutor students that are not even in his class. He is an outstanding math teacher. He has slo offered to tutor my older sister in her college math since she has graduated and moved on. There are not many teachers out there that are willing to help current and past students. Becuase of his dedication to the students here at Wickenburg High I feel he would be an excellent canidate for the excellence in education award.
