Amber B.

My daughter has had a very ruff time with school this year as her father was arrested back in September. Her teacher has helped her to deal with those days where she is down and I can't be there because of work. She and the principal are the only people in her school that are aware of the situation and they have bent over backwards to help her with this difficult time. Miss Bridgewater has been very understanding of this situation and helped Madison with school assignment and to compfort her whenever needed. She has purchased several things on her own for the class to help the children with their learning environment. She is very dedicated to the students and has even set up personal time to after school to help the students that are having a hard time with reading and things after school. She is a wonderful teacher and really cares about the education that these children receive. She has given them an assignment to read up to 100 books and the children that do will receive a trophy. She has even offered to pay for one of the children's trophys out of her own pocket. She has several games that she has taught the kids to help them with the different games whenever they are in school and always has recommendations for you to help your child at home with different things that they are struggling with at home. She has talked to me about the cutbacks in school and that she is afraid that at some point she may need to move to a different profession. I am hoping that if she wins this award she will realize that she is making a difference in the lives of these children our future leaders.
