My son graduated from Cactus High School last spring. To this day, Felix Ramirez continues to be his guardian angel. Jeremy had a tough time at school, especially with football but his auto teacher continued to watch over him. He sets high standards for him and helped him with his classes and his self esteem. When Jeremy didn't know what he was going to do after high school, Felix convinced him that he needed to attend college. He contacted an instructor at Central Arizona College where Jeremy now attends the John Deere Technology program. I am proud to say Jeremy will be completing his first year of college this spring, something he never thought he would do. Today, Felix opened up his auto shop for Jeremy to hold his Eagle Scout Court of Honor. For his eagle scout project, Jeremy painted the Glendale Police Museum, but the building has now been condemned and we could not hold the ceremony there. We chose the next best place: the Cactus High School Auto Shop. Not only did Felix come early to help us set up but he gave Jeremy his Boy Scout book from when he was in scouts. He never became an eagle scout but he wanted Jeremy to realize what a great honor it was for him to be involved with his Eagle Court of Honor. A more wonderful teacher for my son and others could not be found! He is always there for his students. One of his former students recently passed away after a quad accident; Felix spoke at the funeral. The family had already decided to set up a scholarship for those students who take auto as they saw how Mr. Ramirez loved thier son and others. He welcomes all of them into his auto shop whenever they want. The kids know he will ALWAYS be there for them and we as parents are very grateful for that!
