![]() | Jaiah was diagnosed with Neuroblstoma on her 4th birthday. She was given a 40% chance of survival, we were dealing with stage 4 high risk bone and bone marrow cancer. Jaiah started chemo right away. After chemo was complete we were sent to Tucson for two bone marrow transplants and radiation treatment. At the end of all the treatment she went about 4 months not eating a single thing, As a result she was very ill and was placed in ICU. We almost lost her Christmas 2009, but by the grace of god she pulled through. Jaiah developed a disorder called HUS from damage from the chemo that caused her kidneys to fail, she was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and put on dialysis. I, her mother, was told that she will need a kidney transplant. After being on dialysis for a year her kidneys got better, again a gift from God. She has been off dialysis for over a year now and just celebrated her 7th birthday. I want to nominate my little soldier for her strength. Jaiah is 7 years old, top of her 1st grade class. She is caring and has a big heart and is a true definition of a cancer survivor!! Signed, |
