I would like to nominate Donald Hoshauer, my father. I am sure most little girls would say their fathers are admirable and an inspiration to them, but my father truly is an inspiration, not only to my sister and I but to many others as well. My father is a true example of an inspiration for many reasons. Not only is my father a commendable father figure, he is my true friend as well. The examples he has set throughout my life and continue to set are nothing less than exceptional. Most recently he has taught me how to be a pillar in society and how to make a positive impact on humanity by logging close to 650 hours since 2007 in volunteer time! All of her volunteer time is for various charitable organizations in the Valley. Through his example, he has motivated me to become a volunteer as well, and I now volunteer at the AAWL, a no kill shelter for animals. My father is also an inspiration because he showed true grit and fight through his battle with cancer. I remember the call when he told me. I was to say the least, devastated and worried, although I knew my father's personality that he had shown throughout his life as a strong, resilient individual, I knew this would be a tough fight to face. After months of chemo and radiation, after months of combating the illness, he prevailed. There is no doubt in my mind that his extremely positive attitude throughout the whole experience was one of the main reasons he is here today. He was so resilient that at time where I was having difficulty dealing with everything going on, he, the true one suffering, stood strong as a rock, a true inspiration of strength. Experiencing this with my father has taught me that no matter what happens in our lives from here on out, his resilient positive attitude that he maintained and still maintains throughout his daily life is true inspiration for all.
