Nicole Rimsza

March 20th, 2012, at the age of 32, my daughter Nicole was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive stomach cancer. We didn't even know stomach cancer existed! She is a newly married mother of 2. She went through rounds of chemo before having her stomach completely removed on June 25. She is currently going through chemo every 2 weeks until December because chances of it coming back a very high. Through out her journey, she has taught me so much about the human spirit. Immediately after her dionosis, she went right into the mode of kicking cancers ass. Information was her weapon! Completely changed her eating into organic foods that fought cancer or at least did not promote it. She took the attitude of doing what she had to do to fight and win! She even quit her daycare business and put her photography business on hold to fight. Nicole has an amazing support system...an incredible husband fighting right by her side, family and friends ready to help in every way possible. But it's Nicole who blesses us with her inner strength and beauty. In the midst of chemo, she even organized a Phoenix No Stomach For Cancer Walk, which was this past Saturday at Tempe Town Lakes. She knows this journey is leading her to help and support others fighting stomach cancer, and will stop at nothing to do so. If it means stopping a conversation to throw up, it's only a speed bump because it's that important for her to be there for others. Nicole also wants Stomach Cancer Awarness made more available. Did you know it is the second leading cause of cancer deaths? Yet, the public just doesn't know about it...we didn't know about it until it decided to bring our lives to a screeching halt! Nicole is such an inspiration, along with her family, and she deseveres to have her story told. She is my hero...

Janice Guido
