Pat is an inspiration to all. She is my hero Pat is a breast cancer survivor twice over. The first time she went through breast cancer, I did not know her very well. But I saw the way she talked to another friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. Pat’s voice was so soothing and reassuring, with just the right amount of humor, that I could see the worry leave my friend and myself. Pat always makes everything ok. Then one day she found out the breast cancer had returned. I think I was more worried than she was -- I wanted to cry. I was a mess, but not Pat. She took it in stride once again. She would tell us what the doctors wanted her to do. Just having her tell us what was next, in her humorous way, made everyone around her laugh and everyone knew she was going to be ok. Pat has inspired me to laugh a lot more and not to take things so seriously. I have enjoyed life a lot more because of her.
