Annette Mattern is one of the pioneers for Cancer Symptom Awareness and Advocacy for the state of Arizona. While having continuously battled Ovarian Cancer for decades, Annette has found time to write an inspiring book to help other survivors, entitled "Outside the Lines." She founded the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona, and while acting as president, has also served on the National Alliance (OCNA) in various capacities, including president. Annette selflessly gives up her time and energy willingly to others battling cancer. She spends countless hours teaching medical students of the symptoms for Ovarian Cancer at schools all over Arizona. Now, while undergoing treatment herself, she is caring for her husband who currently is fighting his own battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Please join me in appreciating this beautiful and inspiring woman, Annette Mattern.
