David Perre is my grandson. He is 16 years old His mother was recently diagnosed with Progressive Bulbar Palsy a terminal disease with no cure. She has a 2 year window of life. Shortly after her devastating diagnosis David was taken to the hospital for what was thought to be a hernia or appendicitis. It was discovered that he had a 6 inch tumor wrapped around his appendix. They removed the tumor, the appendix, 1/3 of his small intestine and his lymphnodes. When he went for his first radiation treatment, they found sarcoma cells behind his colon. He has been on both radiation and aggressive Chemo treatments for several months. His most recent scan came back clean but he will continue Chemotherapy through February. His hospital stays are every other week for five days at a time, sometimes requiring a transfusion. David is excited about his most recent scan and considers himself a survivor. Thank you for considering his story. Signed, |
