Many years ago, Pam Gaber took her dog (Gabriel) to a shelter for abused children to visit a friend and was happily surprised at how the children reacted to Gabiel. The children live in fear and mistrust because of abuse at home. The dog brought out trust and the dog gave the chidren unconditional love which is what the children needed. They faces lite up when they saw Gabriel. Pam then realized the need and quit her job with Intel and started Gabriel's Angles with her husband and others as the board of directors. Since then, about 1300 voluteers in the Phoenix and Tucson areas voluteer to visit shelters for abused children. I have known Pam for about five years and she is truely is tireless person who never seems to quit hitting her goals with her staff. Children at this young age need love and the ability to trust so the will grow up to be good citizens and enjoy the quality-of-life we all try to attain. Pam has sacraficed so much for these wonderful children and should be nominated for Woman of the Year award.
