Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 when she was 28 years old. She had a double mastectomy, 8 weeks of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, painfull expanders, and was beginning her reconstructive surgery when, in Jully 2011, the cancer metastasized to her lungs and several large tumors were present. When we took her home to her condo in August, her AC was not working. Her oncologist at Mayo started her on the strongest chemo drugs available. Most people cannot take all 6, but Sarah did,although they made her very ill. She always has a smile on her face and is a true inspiration to those around her. She worked a full-time job through all of this to keep her insurance benefits. Her washing machine hose broke on the third floor of her condo and destroyed the 3rd floor and the ceiling of the 2nd floor. She has had to let the condo go back to the bank. Her car has almost 200,000 miles on it. She is now having to take a leave of absence from work as she has more tumors in her lungs. If you ask the folks at MaceRich or Chaparral Christian Church, they will tell you that she is never down and has the most wonderful attitude. An exceptional person.
