Paul McCartney Refuses to Play Vegas

Paul McCartney In Concert

Traditionally, Las Vegas has been an ideal venue for aging musicians who still love to perform but can no longer stand the rigors of touring. But don't expect to see Paul McCartney on a Vegas stage anytime soon.

The 78-year-old says he has no interest in a Las Vegas residency, saying the gambling mecca is where performers "go to die" at the end of their careers. "That's something I've been trying to avoid my whole life," McCartney says. "Definitely nothing attracts me about the idea. Vegas is where you go to die, isn't it? It's the elephant's graveyard."

The former Beatle adds he has "plenty of energy" to continue touring the world and plans to continue doing so for years to come.
