Not many people know this, just my family and very close friends, but I have a fear of running out of toilet paper…seriously, when I went to D.C. for a wedding years ago- she had very little toilet paper…so my hubby & I walked down to the neighborhood bar & I wrapped TP around my body because I was sooo afraid  of not having any TP. Although now that I think of it I am wondering why we just didn't go to the store-..must've been closed.- but I digress…

 Well you heard of the Coney
  Island  hot dog eating contest,
  right?  As fun as that might be
  to some, I think there's more
  important matters to tend to,
  especially IF  the call of nature
  arrives - that's right, using the
  restroom….evidently the city
  of New York is hurting   
  financially - SO, how do they
  cut back? you'll never guess…
  okay, I'll tell you.. by cutting
  back on toilet paper. Female
  park district stalls are no longer
  being stocked with full rolls.

When I heard about this it reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine is in the bathroom stall & the woman next to her can't spare a square. (Hey- speaking of squares- do you remember the actual SQUARES of TP when we were kids? Don't see those anymore. )-

On this date, July 5th in 1954 Elvis recorded "That's All Right" And "Blue Moon Of Kentucky".....BUT- I don't like those songs, well truthfully, I don't know them, so I am posting one I do kind of like.. it's upbeat...and really well known.  The anniversary of his death is coming up in August. I wonder if he & Michael Jackson have met up yet...(just curious)

Okay, well we've heard that it's normal for a human to lose up to 100 strands of hair each & every day.

Never really gave much thought about it. That's because, I couldn't possibly have imagined that you could make a useful object (other than wigs) from human hair. You won't believe this- read the story- REALLY  sunglasses made out of human hair?

 Okay maybe WE is too many people.. Why I love coffee? Because- I do!! Ya know, it’s not just coffee. It could be soda pop-(SODA POP, that reminds me, growing up, whenever we were offered a drink, it was never a “soda”  or “pop”– it was ALWAYS-ALWAYS- ALWAYS- “want a COKE?” – Regardless if it was Pepsi or 7-up or Rootbeer or  Mountain Dew- (which reminds me of a grade school prank that I really shouldn’t get into) but I digress…

 Why are we so in love with coffee and soda? Researchers from Illinois State University say it’s the caffeine. (Duh!) The same very smart researchers found that caffeine makes  us feel better. Caffeine tends to improve attention and enhance your mood. So, not only are we awake, but we tend to like the way we feel on caffeine.

Coffee is one of those things you either love or hate. ( I LOVE IT!) Those of us who love it will swear by it, (I swear by it, but I swear at anything- wait, that’s something different) and those who hate it are full of dire predictions about how bad it is for you. (Pish-Posh I say!)  Okay for you stick in the mud peeps, Yes, I know caffeine has the unfortunate side effect of being addicting, but on the plus side, coffee has a lot about it to love.

For instance:

Some people can’t wake up without having their coffee, sort of a morning ritual. From the way the coffee smells as it’s brewing- which, in my opinion, not to take away from the flavor,  smells better than the actual taste-

 Here are a few of the reasons why we love coffee:

Morning ritual – Let’s be frank: Some of us just couldn’t get out of bed in the morning without the promise of coffee. Although caffeine does act as a wake-up call for the body and the mind, for many people it’s also about the ritual. Just the smell of coffee brewing can be enough to get us out of bed.

It can get your mind stimulated.

Coffee can be used as an excuse to get together with friends anytime.

There’s more great things to love about coffee, but I’ll save it for another time- WAIT- I thought of something else- it gets ya “moving” – if ya know what I mean.. (heh heh)

Yes, coffee is addictive, but it’s my only vice…and I really enjoy it. Coffee brings pleasure, inspires you, and facilitates social gatherings...yep, I love it for all it has to offer. In fact, I’m going to Starbucks right now! See you there?

...why are air conditioners so heavy?

I know, I know...you're asking yourself- what in the world made Lisa think of that?  Well, those of you that KNOW me are just shaking your head.. those of you that don't know me- well, (you've been spared -lol). I don't know why I thought of that but I'll tell you what my therapist would say when I ask her questions...- it's the A.D.D-  rampant errant thoughts run through my head ALL DAY. She plans to 'doo' DNA testing on the furry canines & keep on file who the doo belongs to...yep- it's come to this.

I love this song, and I've always had a thing for Bobby Darin. From what I've read & from interviews I watched he appeared to be kind of a smart a_ _  and flirty.. I like that.  Unfortunately his life was cut short.  On Dec 20, 1973...while doctors were trying to correct his heart (his heart was damaged from Rheumatic fever) he passed away on the operating table. He was only 37 years old.

 


Bobby # 2 - Bobby Caldwell:  When he was touring, he made frequent stops here in the valley.  I had the opportunity to meet him. He's a very nice man - always dressed in a black suit (could've been a tux)- kind of mysterious and smelled R-E-A-L-L-Y good!. He gave us a private performance. He's a very classy guy.
