1/4 cup butter
1 t vanilla extract
1 6-oz. package chow mein noodles
Jelly beans or robin eggs
In a 2-quart saucepan, combine marshmallows and butter and cook over low heat stirring occasionally, until melted. Add vanilla and stir in chow mein noodles until well-coated. Butter the back of a soupspoon and dole out a bit of the noodles into a muffin tin cup, using the soupspoon to press the noodles up the side of the cup. Continue until the muffin tin is filled. Refrigerate until firm, about 2-hours. Remove the nest with a spatula or butter knife. Fill with jelly beans or robin eggs. After filling, the nests can be wrapped in cellophane and secured with ribbon. Young children and even adults love to make these darling nests.
