This week on the Grapevine we are featuring crisp, delicately flavored wines from Banfi!





Le Rime Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio 2005

Pinot Grigio (30%) and Chardonnay (70%) are nurtured to perfection in select hillside vineyards of the Banfi estate. These result in a delightfully harmonious wine with a pale, straw-yellow colour, fruit-forward aromas of tropical fruits, pears and citrus enriched by floral notes. Light, refreshing, lively and crisp, full bodied replete with refreshing acidity. Chilled well in hot months to come and serve at 6°to 8° C with a full range of foods including pasta, vegetables, and fish, seafood, veal and poultry dishes.



Natural Chardonnay 2006

This juicy, succulent white is sure to please. Lightly oaked with ripe tropical fruit balanced by zesty acidity, it's a winner. Full bodied, delicately flavored (lemon peel, pear, peach, roasted nut), well balanced, with a hint of oak on the finish. With vibrancy and freshness, it works when sipped alone as a cocktail or with dishes from grilled salmon to pasta in a cream sauce.



Casillero del Diablo Carmeenere 2005

Medium-to full-bodied, it has a nose of ripe raspberries and dark berries, with a hint of cocoa. Blackberries and a woodsy earthiness appear on the tongue, with a touch of tar and molasses. The tannins are soft, with a long sturdy finish and a touch of overt vanilla oak finsih. A toasty red that’s very good with grilled meats and hearty pastas
