DeLille Cellars 2006 D2, Columbia Valley

Release Dates: November 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2008
Tasting Notes:
Complex nose of red currants, cedar, pencil lead, white meadow flowers, and mocha. The freshness and lift on the palate definitely represents the 2006 vintage, with red currants and mulberries supported by toffee and vanilla oak notes.

Varietal Blend:
D2 is a blend of 51% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and is produced in the style of a Bordeaux Chateau second label.

DeLille Cellars 2007 Chaleur Estate Blanc, Columbia Valley

Release Dates: August 9th and 10th, 2008

Tasting Notes:
This year’s Chaleur Estate Blanc has a creamy nose of grapefruit, pineapple, and straw, with toasted almond notes. In the mouth, the Sauvignon Blanc asserts itself, with complex straw and wild herb notes, along with more creamy citrus and Anjou pear flavors. Like all of our Chaleur Estate Blancs, this is delicious now, but can also be aged for further complexities and surprises. Bright, full yellow with a green tinge. Pure aromas of pineapple, pear, chlorophyll and high-toned spicy oak. Bright, pure and penetrating in the mouth, with terrific density and nuance to the flavors of lime zest, minerals and coconut. For all its depth, this conveys a rare light touch.

Varietal Blend:
68% Sauvignon Blanc, 32% Semillon.

Doyenne 2006 Aix, Red Mountain

Release Dates: November 14th, 15th and 16th, 2008

Tasting Notes:
The Aix has a higher percentage of syrah this year, and bears it out with a nose of wild berries, flowers, lavender and cured meats. The palate shows the freshness of the 2006 vintage with bright loganberries and orange blossom notes. The structure, while approachable now, promises plenty for the future, with fine-grained tannins and an almost Old World-Style acidity that will make it a great guest at the table.

Varietal Blend:
64.5% Syrah 35.5% Cabernet Sauvignon

These fine handcrafted wines are available locally at AJ’s Fine Foods, AZ Wine Scottsdale and Sportsman’s Fine Wines and Spirits.
